Yoshihiko Fujii has developed a fusion between special coating technology and detailed laser cutting, to produce revolutionary Western-style plates using the world’s first gold-inlaid lacquerware on glass. This technology has made it possible to combine the intricate color expressions of urushi lacquer and gold inlay with the world of Western-style tableware. It had previously been seen as unsuited for such tableware, because it is easily damaged by the extensive use of knives and forks, but the combination is now available for original products by custom order.
